Ministry Teams
“To serve and not to be served” (Matthew 20:28)
Our Ministry Teams help us live out our mission as disciples who make disciples by organizing various ministry efforts in the church, mobilizing members of the church to carry out these efforts, and strategizing how to improve ministry at Sidney Christian Church.
Ministry Leaders: Joe Bear / Marla James
- Will be responsible for the planning and organizing of the Morning Worship Service and other special worship services (e.g., Good Friday, Easter SonRise, Christmas Eve, etc.).
- Will be responsible to provide worship services as needed for funerals and weddings performed at SCC.
- Will be responsible for providing a computer, sound, audio, and visual technician for all services.
Ministry Leaders: Chuck Gillins / Glenn Dillman / Kim Krukewitt (SS Superintendent) / Kim Franklin (Asst SS Superintendent)
- Will be responsible to coordinate our adult Sunday school, in home small groups, and other Bible study opportunities, and to equip and provide training opportunities to our Bible teachers / leaders.
- Will be responsible to help determine curriculum and give direction and vision for adult Bible studies and small groups.
- Will be responsible for overseeing spiritual growth opportunities. They will help new and long-time Christians develop / grow in their faith by developing a spiritual growth plan.
Ministry Leaders: Fred Olds / Bob Franklin
- Will be responsible for helping determine specific benevolent needs among our church and community and for organizing and mobilizing a team of volunteers to help meet that need.
- Will be responsible to give direction / vision for outreach to our community, surrounding communities, and even to the whole world by coordinating our local service projects, missions opportunities, visitor outreach, grief / other support ministries, and other outreach opportunities.
- Will be responsible to facilitate communication with our supported missionaries, and distribution of Faith Promise monies, and other mission offerings that arise, appropriately.
Ministry Leaders: Alana Bennett (Women’s Fellowship President) / Jerri Moorman (Women’s Fellowship Vice-President) / Dan James
- Will be responsible for organizing regular church fellowship events, Easter SonRise breakfast, and other fellowship dinners / meals.
- Will be responsible for coordinating meals to the family of those who are sick, hospitalized, or bereaved. (And this will also include coordinating funeral dinners.)
- Will be responsible for organizing banquets and receptions including baby and wedding showers and other requested events.
- Includes Women’s Fellowship / Kitchen / Hospitality / Flowers & Banquets / Decorations and all responsibilities listed for these committees.
Ministry Leaders: Jason Robinson / Doug Krukewitt
- Will be responsible for oversight of leader / teacher (volunteer) recruitment for our various youth groups, Wednesday night children / youth program, VBS program, and any other appropriate ministry opportunities related to children / youth.
- Will be responsible for providing oversight of the children / youth ministry and support of the youth minister. Will help find, recruit, and encourage adult youth leaders.
- Will work in coordination with the Missions Team to be responsible for providing information about summer church camp opportunities to the congregation, helping with SCC camper registrations, and encouraging youth to attend camp.
Ministry Leaders: Bob Mullins / Bub Miller
- Will be responsible for organizing gardening, lawn care, pest control, upkeep, repairs and care of the building, and oversight and maintenance of all church property (e.g., parking lot, mower, other equipment, etc.).
- Will be responsible for overseeing the building’s interior including cleanliness and up-keep, attractiveness, signage, as well as organizing annual workdays.
- Will oversee the Safety Committee (originally established at the June 14, 2018 Board meeting). This committee will work to “cultivate and establish a worry-free and safe environment for all who worship with us at SCC.” Among other things, their objective is to “establish effective guidelines, instructions, and leadership to respond to medical, weather, safety, and other emergencies. They are to operate with final authority in matter of compliance with safety rules, guidelines, and procedures.
